Fleet Services

The City of Rockport's Fleet Services Department provides complete vehicle and equipment maintenance for the entire city fleet, which consists of approximately one hundred seventy five (175) vehicles and different pieces of equipment. The fleet staff provides knowledge and training to all city employees regarding fleet issues. The staff prepares recommendations and specifications for appropriate vehicles or equipment based on their expected use. The fleet services staff inspects and approves newly purchased vehicles and equipment.

The Fleet Services Department also monitors and maintains a fueling station for gas and diesel that is used by the City of Rockport, the Aransas County Navigation District, the Rockport and Fulton Fire Departments, and Aransas County Emergency Medical Services. Another important function of fleet services is the management, distribution and coordination of the maintenance contract for the radio communication system used by the Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments.
